pineconeSummary of ADAPT

Forest trees exhibit remarkable adaptations to their environments. One of the greatest challenges for these trees though is adapting to the cold. This process is highly synchronized with the environmental cues relating to photoperiod and temperature. The genetic basis for phenotypic adaption to these climatic gradients has been established through a long history of common garden, provenance, and genecological studies. The identities of genes underlying these traits, however, have remained elusive and this so have the patterns of adaptive molecular diversity in forest tree genomes.
